Ingredients: Serve 12(Appetizer)
1 pound ground pork
¾ cup chopped green onion, divided
1 large egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 ½ teaspoons fresh minced ginger
½ teaspoon crushed red pepper, divided
¼ teaspoon salt
1 (12 ounce) package wonton wrappers
Water
½ cup soy sauce
¼ cup mirin
2 tablespoons sesame oil
2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
Garnish: chopped cilantro
Procedures:
- In a medium bowl, gently combine pork, ½ cup green onions, nex 3 ingredients, ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper, ans salt until combined. Working with 1 wonton wrapper. Place about 2 teaspoons filling in center of wrapper. Bring edges up around filling, pressing to seal.
- Spray a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Heat over medium high heat. Working in batches, add dumplings, and cook for 5 minutes or until browned. Add 3 tablespoons water to pan; immediately cover and reduce heat to low. Cook for 7 to 10 minutes longer or until filling is done. Keep warm. Brown remaining dumplings, and add 3 tablespoons water to each batch. Proceed as directed.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together remaining ¼ cup green onion, remaining ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper, soy sauce, and next 3 ingredients. Serve sauce with dumplings. Garnish with cilantro, if desired.
