Style Lettuce Wraps - Korean Style
Ingredients: serve 4
½ cup soy sauce
1 ripe pear, peeled, cored, and grated
3 ½ tablespoon sugar
3 scallions, chopped fine
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
1 tablespoon tasted sesame seeds
½ teaspoon pepper
1 ½ pounds skirt steak, trimmed
1 head red leaf, green leaf, or Bibb lettuce, leaves separated
1. Mix soy sauce, pear, sugar, scallions, garlic, sesame oil, sesame seeds and pepper in a large bowl. Measure and reserve ¼ cup of the marinade. Cut the skirt steaks crosswise into 3 or 4 sections and add to the marinade. Let marinate while the grill heats.
2. Meat from the grill to medium - heat until well browned and meat registering 125 degrees (medium - rare), 6-8 minutes per side. Transfer to cutting board fillets, cover with foil and let stand 5 minutes. Slice steak thin against the grain, transfer to plate and sprinkle with reserved marinade. Serve with lettuce to wrap outgoing.
