How to Make Caramel Popcorn

Caramel Popcorn Recipe
Ingredients: Makes 6 servings
½ cup popcorn kernels (enough to make 6 cups) or
1 package microwaveable popcorn, natural or butter flavor
¾ cup white sugar
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
½ cup butter (1 stick)
¼ teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt(omit if using salted microwaveable popcorn)

  • Cook the popcorn following directions on the package. Remove any unpopped kernels. Set aside cooked popcorn. Preheat oven to 250 degree F.
  • In a deep saucepan, combine sugar, water, corn syrup and butter. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture turns light golden in color, about 8 minutes. Remove from heat and sitr in baking soda and salt(if popcorn is unsalted). Mix well.
  • Arrange popcorn in a foil lined pan. Pour syrup over popcorn.
  • Toss popcorn until it is evenly coated with the syrup. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and lightly toss popcorn. Bake again for another 10 minutes. Allow popcorn to cool for 10 minutes before serving. End.
