Southwest Burgers Recipe
Ingredients: Makes 4 humbergers by Sandra Lee
1 pound ground chuck
1 (1.25 ounce) package original taco seasoning mix
4 Colby Jack cheese slices
2 tablespoons butter, softened
8 slices Texas toast
½ cup sour cream
1 cup frensh fried onion rings,
½ cup chunky salsa(medium)

1 pound ground chuck
1 (1.25 ounce) package original taco seasoning mix
4 Colby Jack cheese slices
2 tablespoons butter, softened
8 slices Texas toast
½ cup sour cream
1 cup frensh fried onion rings,
½ cup chunky salsa(medium)
Procedures:
- In a large bowl, combine ground chuck and taco seasoning mix. Form mixture into 4 patties
- Spray grill rack with nonstick nonflammable cooking spray. Preheat grill to medium high heat (350 to 400 degree)
- Grill burgers, covered with grill lid, for 5 minutes on each side, or until desired degree of doneness. Top each patty with 1 cheese slice, and grill, covered with grill lid, until cheese melts, about 1 to 2 minutes.
- Spread butter evenly on both sides of toast. Grill toast for 1 to 2 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- Spread 2 tablespoons sour cream on 4 toast slices. Top each with ¼ cup fried onion, 1 burger, and 2 tablespoons salsa. Cover with remaining 4 toast slices. Serve immediately. End.
